2021.10.25 20:02 Effective_Limit_9595 Feeling like it’s withdrawl day after drinking
My husband has the vivitrol shot and has relapsed for 3.5 days and continues to drink. He is having what he thinks is with-drawl symptoms the next day…. Bad vomiting etc. but the dr said it’s because of the shot mixing with the alcohol and it’ll keep happening like a hangover with it in his system. Anyone get really really bad hangovers after drinking with this? I’m trying to tell him he doesn’t have to continue drinking because he’s not really in withdrawl it’s a bad hangover. He’s terrified of withdrawl again. Advice?? If he continues he will actually need medical detox….

2021.10.25 20:02 AbsurdlyBlack How is coop for CompSci/SoftEng at McMaster university?
Hi everyone, I'm a HS student I'm just looking at options right now and trying to pick 5 universities for CompSci/SoftEng/CompEng. Right now I have Waterloo, Toronto, UBC, Carleton, Ottawa, Guelph as the 5 Unis I wanna apply to but I'm still looking into McMaster and McGIll.
So, when you apply for a job, what do the companies look at? Is it just your interview skills? Do they look at your GPA and do they use your GPA when deciding on whether they (the company) should hire you, or some other student.
Second, did everyone that was in the COOP program easily/successfully find a job in the summer term? If so, how'd it go. If not, what happened and why do you think you didn't find the job?
More questions: -How was the pay for your terms?
-Where did you work? Do you know where most people in the program worked for the term?
-Overall, do you think the COOP at McMaster for Comp.Sci/Soft. Eng is good? Or is it average/below average in your opinion.
- If you can, can you compare it to other universities I mentioned above?
Any info would help. Thanks!

2021.10.25 20:02 Forevershadow1 I think I may have developed Marijuana Sensitivity, but unsure
A BIT OF A BACKGROUND
I start smoking regularly at around 21 I believe. Usually, I'd smoke 1-2 times a day, with no issues really. I was born with asthma, but as I got older it subsided. I haven't had an asthma attack since I was 16, and the first time ever smoking I was 18.
It was a solid 5-6 years of smoking cannabis regularly. Never did I have really an issue keeping down the smoke or having a strange feeling in my chest. I also didn't really smoke anything too harsh, however sometimes I did.
For almost a year now, marijuana and specifically marijuana smoke affects me differently. I am very sensitive to smoking it. Now, I'm unsure if this is the carcinogenic property or weed itself. Basically, what happens, is if I hit a blunt, one hitter or bong (not even a large hit), I will usually cough VERY easily and my throat/upper chest will feel destroyed... while my friends finish and hit the blunt multiple times with no problem.
WHAT I FEEL
First, you may think- Asthma coming back? No. This isn't asthma. Instead, it is this very strange "dirty" feeling throughout my respiratory system. I am not short of breath or feel I need an inhaler. Instead, I have this uncomfortable/gross feeling that will last for days and days, even if I only smoke for one session. I don't really have a cough either. Right now, my throat down to my chest just feels sort of nasty (as if I smoked 30 cigars). My chest will feel very disgusting, like tar has accumulated a ton after I hit a blunt a few times.
This gross, uncomfortable sensation that is experienced so easy with only a bit of marijuana smoke... is concerning. I went to the doctor voicing my concerns. They took blood work and I even had a chest x-ray. They said, if I want to be extra sure, I can get a CT scan of my chest. However, a doctor recommended not to due to the radiation exposure for something I'm unsure of.
Anyhow, I switched to delta 8 edibles, since they are easily attainable in my state for legal purposes. At first, these were a solution. No smoke, no irritation. After a while of taking delta 8 gummies (only 25-50 mg a day) I started getting an upset stomach with diarrhea. At first, I didn't know it was the d8, it took a few months for me to pinpoint it.
CLOSER & QUESTION AT HAND
For whatever reason, it seems that marijuana just does not want to be in my body. Even a delta 8 tincture gave me digestional issues. The last form of cannabis I can try would either be delta 9 topicals or edibles, but even that is unlikely to solve the issue.
What could this be? Is it normal to just almost become 'allergic' to cannabis after 6 years of consuming it? I found something called 'cannabis hyperemesis syndrome', but those symptoms are quite different than mine. I never vomited, nor were my stomach pains sever enough to cause a hospital visit.
Your input is appreciated, thank you.

2021.10.25 20:02 bjsuck Maintain charge on Quest 2
Hey all. I'm thinking about getting a quest 2 in the near future (Waiting for Facebook Connect on the 28th first to see if they reveal something more enticing). I will mainly use the Quest 2 for VR on the PC with very rare on-the-go gaming. I've seen conflicting posts about the Quest 2 continuing to discharge, and eventually, dying while connected via Link cable, or managing fine and maintaining full charge throughout play. My Mobo (MSI MPG z490 Wifi) has a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 type-c port on the IO. Would this port be enough to enable long-term/infinite PC VR gaming on the quest 2? Or would I need to get some PCIe expansion slot (If so which one would be enough)?
Also, what would be a recommended link cable? $80 seems a bit steep for oculus' cable, but if it is objectively better than cheaper alternatives I'll eat the cost.
Thank you in advance and if you have any other pro tips for a new Quest 2/VR owner I'm all ears!

2021.10.25 20:02 Tmanyikologie1597 Hey you, come help me, please.
Hey INTPs. I hope you are all doing fine, I just want to ask you how to get along with an Intp? I am an INTJ male, my GF is an INTP, she is basically a smart girl like every intp, but the problem is that even we love each other, we don't express ourselves; "romantically speaking" and I have some fears that these traits would eventually separate us because we are keeping distance. Furthermore, I don't know much about INTP since this is the first time ever I met an INTP. I don't know if she likes hanging out? Or what topics she would be interested in, or even how I can know she likes me? I mean, we "INTJs" show love differently, but I don't know how an INTP can show His/Her love to his beloved ones.
Thank you in advance. ^^

2021.10.25 20:02 roseyelephant33 Should I trust this career assessment?
It's from my college's website and has 60 questions. It gave me jobs with the percentages of how closely it aligns with my traits. Here is what it said for my top 3:
Social Social people are friendly and outgoing. They are cooperative and enjoy working with and being around other people. They are understanding and insightful concerning the feelings and problems of others. They like to be helpful to others by serving in facilitative roles such as those of teachers, mediators, advisers, counselors, etc. They have social skills, express themselves well, and are persuasive in interpersonal relationships. They like attention and enjoy being at or near the center of the group. They are idealistic, sensitive, and conscientious in their outlook on life and in their dealings with others. They like to deal with philosophical issues such as the nature and purpose of life, religion, morality, etc. They dislike working with machines, tools, and data and at highly organized, routine, and repetitive tasks. They see themselves as having social and educational skills, but as lacking in mechanical and scientific abilities. They get along well with others and find it natural to express their emotions. They are tactful in relating to others and are considered to be kind, supportive, and caring.
Enterprising Enterprising people are self-confident, outgoing, and optimistic. They like to organize, direct, and control the activities of groups. They are ambitious and like to be in positions of authority. They place a high value on status, power, money, and material possessions. They like to feel that they are in control of situations and are responsible for making things happen. They are energetic and enthusiastic in initiating and supervising the activities in which they engage. They like to influence the opinions and actions of others and to hold positions of leadership. They are adventurous and impulsive. They are assertive and verbally persuasive in bringing others around to their point of view. They enjoy social gatherings and like to associate with well-known and influential people. They like to travel and explore and often have exciting and expensive hobbies. They see themselves as popular and as having leadership and speaking abilities. They tend to dislike activities requiring scientific abilities and systematic and theoretical thinking. They avoid activities which require attention to detail and adherence to a set routine.
Conventional Conventional people are well-organized, persistent, and practical in their approach to life. They enjoy clerical and computational activities performed according to set procedures. They are dependable, efficient, and conscientious in accomplishing the tasks in which they engage. They enjoy the security of belonging to groups and organizations and make good team members. They are status-conscious but usually do not aspire to positions of highest authority and leadership. They are most comfortable working in situations and at tasks in which they know what is expected of them. They tend to be conservative and traditional in values and attitudes. They usually conform to expected standards and follow the lead of those in positions of authority, with whom they identify. They like to work indoors in pleasant surroundings and place value on material comforts and possessions. They are self-controlled and low-key in the expression of their feelings. They avoid intense personal relationships in favor of more casual ones. They are most comfortable in familiar situations and in the company of people they know well. They like for things to go as planned and prefer not to have their routines changed or upset.
The jobs with high percentages that somewhat interest me are:
Social and community service manager: 95%
Medical and health service manager: 90%
Education administration, elementary/secondary: 100%
Child/family/school social worker: 87%
PR specialist: 83%
Training and development manager: 98%
HR manager: 97%
Clinical nurse specialist: 93%
The thing is, I'm currently a Pcommunication/journalism student. Now I feel like I'm in the wrong major after already switching 12+ times. I've taken nearly every free career test and the results always say teacher or nurse. I don't really think I want to be either. I used to want to be a speech pathologist, another high result, but I get drained very easily and can't be "on" all day. I also don't really like the idea of giving therapy to someone. I think being a dietitian really appeals to me but I've heard bad things about it. Does anyone have advice? Should I switch to one of the majors that align with these careers? Social work is also really appealing to me but it seems like people either say it's horrible or it's great. My main needs are security, comfortable salary and benefits, work-life balance, and not anything too stressful. It doesn't have to be very meaningful but I like to feel like my work has some sort of meaning. I also love learning and tend to take control of things that I get into.
