2021.10.25 19:11 Razhagal Is it normal for a vet to withhold medication because your pet is due for a yearly exam?
My cat has a medical condition that requires prescription food and daily medication, and he will need them for the rest of his life. My vet declined my refill on both because he "is due for his yearly exam."
I'm just wondering if this is normal and all vets do this?

2021.10.25 19:11 privremeni PA about procedure consent and asking explicit questions
I’ve heard of things being done without informing or getting consent, but never thought it would happen to me. I am sharing in hopes to help others avoid feeling blindsided, violated and pissed.
Point is: explicitly ask your provider what he or she is about to do so you get a chance to process it and agree to it. Do not assume they will tell you what they are about to do.
Here are my two examples of how assuming can go wrong.
1) A couple of weeks ago, I got the Strep B test. I expecting the long q tip up my jay. I did not, however, expect to get fingers up there. I found out I was also getting the a cervical check when he shoved fingers up there and announced I am not dilated. I would have declined the cervical check had I been asked if I wanted one, or had he said he is about to do one. No heads up, he just did it.
2) Today, I knew he was doing a cervical check, I had agreed to it. What I did not know was that he was also going to do membrane stripping. I found out when the cervical check went way longer, involved what felt like strong and rather rough circling of a finger(s) in there that hurt like a mother and had me yelling out in pain. When it was over, he said he had just done membrane stripping. I would have declined it had I been asked, or had I been informed that he was about to do it.
Not gonna lie, today shook me up. I’ve learned to ask more questions. Learn from my experience.

2021.10.25 19:11 hoeforspaghetti pregnant, frustrated and lonely
I (F21) am currently 30 weeks pregnant by my husband (M30). I quit my retail job after we found out and have become a full time housewife while my husband has taken more hours at his corporate job to support us I am extremely small framed, youd say I have the body of a 13 year old but my god is this baby huge, this has made any task almost a 100x more difficult and I am constantly exhausted and my whole body aches. I still try to make sure I always have the house clean and food on the table.
Its also far from nice to be alone all day. I miss my job, I never had any "outside of work" friends but it wouldnt be possible for me to work on my feet all day in my condition. My dads try to visit as much as they can but they are both working and have their own lives. my mother in law visits but shes a bit of a pain in the ass and really loves to nitpick my every move and find everything wrong with how i handle my pregnancy.
When my husband comes home we are both to tired to do anything together. We just eat dinner and fall asleep in front of the TV. We havent been able to have sex for months. Not to mention I feel under-appreachiated for everything I do. Im constantly listening to my husband vent about how hard things are at work, but theres nobody there to listen to me. Everyone just assumes I have it easy staying home all day but it really isnt. Ofcourse I am aware that other people have it worse, theres women out there who need to work and provide for themselves throughout their whole pregnancy and I feel nothing but sympathy for them. But that doesnt mean I dont deserve some sympathy too.
I feel so different from my past self. Im fucking huge goddamnit, every movement is so hard, im constantly sweaty and out of breath. How do people handle this? I feel like less of a woman for not being able to just enjoy this time.
