2021.10.25 20:09 randomguynobodyhere I think I’ve to go back :(
I’m so disappointed in myself. I made it through most of the withdrawals which lasted months bar the lingering low mood and anxiety. But my home life is just a chronic stress/mess and the quote “you can’t heal in the place that made you sick” has been coming to mind a lot these last few days… I’m in a situation where I can’t move yet. So I feel like I may just have to give in… the withdrawals were so horrible that I can’t do it again. But I feel like I’ve been holding my breath for the longest time. I just need some support or thoughts about this.

2021.10.25 20:09 chunkylunks New Investor - Need Portfolio Advice (HELP!)
I’m 21 (Male) and I have a full time job
I’ve been researching stocks and other investments for about 3 months, and now it’s time to finally start investing my money.
My goal is to set up a Roth IRA, pick 2-3 different index funds (S&P500, International, US Small Cap) , and hold (while putting money into each of the funds monthly) for 30+ years.
My next step would be to open up a brokerage account and put the rest of my funds into other types of investments.
I want the majority of my assets in the brokerage account to be considered medium (5-15 year) investments. But I wouldn’t mind a few riskier short term stocks as well.
What types of investments would be good for the brokerage account? I plan to hold these investments anywhere from 1 to 15 years. Should I stick with individual stocks or look into ETFs? Or both?
If I’m investing in S&P500 Index Funds through my IRA, would it make sense to also invest in the S&P500 through my brokerage account? Or just keep index funds in the IRA?
I don’t wanna have too much overlap between accounts if it’s not needed.
I am very new to all this so I apologize if my questions sound stupid. I’m just confused as to which assets should go in what account.
I appreciate any advice you’re willing to offer, it helps a ton! Thank you in advance.

2021.10.25 20:09 rosymaples Science CER and ELA RACE
My school teaches the strategy RACE for summarizing in ELA. I’m a 2nd year middle school science teacher and I have previously used CER for scientific explanations and arguments. I want to know if I should change how I teach CER to match up with RACE or should I just not worry about it and keep teaching CER.

2021.10.25 20:09 uru_silko Considering the domestic and international opposition to the coup, what do you think will happen next? Will another attempt be made at a civilian/military partnership?
So al-Burhaan says he plans to - get this - form a "fair and representative government" that'll assume power until democratic elections in 2023.
However, unlike as-Sisi's coup (which this coup is being compared to, erroneously in my opinion), the amount of domestic and international opposition is fierce, even when compared to Ibn Auf's coup in 2019. Instinctually (and this may be wishful thinking) it seems to me that this coup is more likely to end up like Ibn Auf's than, say, Bashir's, as in, I don't think it'll last long and I don't see revolutionaries or international powers accepting al-Burhaan forming his own government to rule until 2023.
With that in mind, looking at demands by activists and international politicians for the release and cancellation (for lack of a better word) of the coup, and keeping 2019 in mind, I just wonder what'll happen next: in 2019, the military also attempted to establish its own transitional government without the involvement of civilian forces, and the result was months of protests, strikes, and ultimately negotiations that birthed the now-collapsed joint government. Assuming the same happens to this coup, is the expectation to have another round of negotiations between civilian and military forces, that will end with a new civilian/military partnership? Or is the expectation that the civilian authorities get released, the former government is restored, and an attempt is made to continue the transition "as planned" despite this brazen betrayal on the part of the military?
And that's without considering the fact that revolutionaries were already insanely reluctant to accept the civilian/military partnership in 2019: the deal was controversial from day 1, and the clearly justified distrust of the military never went away. Would the Sudanese people even entertain another military/civilian government?
What do y'all think? I've been doing a poor job of keeping track of things recently, and I know there's so much I'm overlooking.
